The primary goal of the award is to provide support,
encouragement, and recognition to scientists,
researchers,
and
inventors who have demonstrated exceptional achievements
in
a wide range of fields, including basic sciences,
applied
research, and innovation. These fields encompass various
specializations such as renewable energy, biotechnology,
and
artificial intelligence.
In mid-2021, Almarai and KACST collaborated to develop a
strategy that aligned with the objectives of Saudi Vision
2030
and supports the National Aspirations and Priorities for
RDI. The award falls under the priority of Sustainable
Environment
and Supply of Essential Needs, with a focus on enhancing
food security in dryland regions. It aims to provide support
to
emerging
PhD scientists in this field. In 2023, the board of trustees
was restructured, and the final stage of development and
design of
the local and international awards and identity was
completed.
